Fujifilm today announced the latest addition to its award-winning FinePix digital camera range with the introduction of the FinePix F401 Zoom. The new camera combines seductive metal styling, featuring space-age blue indicator lights, powerful 3rd Generation Super CCD technology and easy to use features. These include a 3x optical zoom neatly stored within its slimline casing, while a USB docking cradle allows for fast automatic picture transfer and battery recharge. There's even the option to shoot movie clips with sound. As a result the FinePix F401 Zoom offers an impressive combination of style, image quality and features.

Boasting results as impressive as its looks, the secret of the new FinePix F401 Zoom's outstanding image quality lies in its new 3G Super CCD sensor with its unique sensor design and powerful processing. With a Super EBC 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 38-114mm on a 35mm camera) and 2.1 million effective pixels, the FinePix F401 Zoom is capable of delivering superbly detailed noise-free 4.0 million recorded pixel images.

The 3G Super CCD sensor enables a class leading sensitivity range up to ISO1600*- making it ideal for capturing atmospheric low-light shots without the aid of flash or for freezing fast moving subjects. Thanks to newly developed Noise Reduction Technology, noise will never significantly effect photos, even at the highest sensitivity setting.

To overcome the photographer's bugbear of shutter lag, the FinePix F401 Zoom introduces a new Cycle Shot feature, which ensures you never miss a shot by saving a series of frames before you press the shutter.

Compact enough to slip in a shirt pocket or handbag, the FinePix F401 Zoom's unique sliding cover with eye-catching cool blue lights (see picture) and on-screen menu system makes operation a pleasure. Finished in stylish, high-grade metal, measuring a mere 3.3x2.7x1.1 inches and weighing in at under 200g including battery, the Fujifilm F401 Zoom is the ideal 'take anywhere' camera.

Fast automatic picture transfer

A new design USB docking station allows automatic transfer of images to a PC or Mac whilst simultaneously recharging the camera's Lithium-ion battery. Once the PictureCradleTM is attached to your computer's USB port, transferring images is simply a matter of popping the camera into the dock as the software launches automatically, copying your pictures to your hard drive.


Multimedia mogul

The FinePix F401 Zoom not only delivers sharp colourful pictures but some attention-grabbing multimedia features, including a movie mode that allows up to 45 minutes' worth of movie clips with sound to be recorded on a 128MB SmartMedia card. The FinePix F401 Zoom can also record audio, boasting a 30-second voice caption feature. The camera can also be utilised as a USB PC webcam for video conferencing.
